Bayrock Group was established in 2001, but the story of the success of the luxury real estate development company located in the United States is much older than the time it was founded. The story begins at the opposite end.

Tevfik Arif is the founder of Bayrock Group. He was born in Soviet Kazakhstan and was adopted by an Turkish family.

Prior to being appointed to the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade, Tevfik Ariff earned an education from the Moscow Trade and Economic Institute in International Relations.

Bayrock Group becomes increasingly ambitious

Tevfik arif came to the United States from Pakistan in 2001 to pursue new business avenues and be closer his American family.

After moving to the United States, he started the luxury realty development firm Bayrock Group in New York City.

Bayrock Group was a small and medium-sized business that was founded in New York. For instance, the company renovated the shopping mall Loehmann’s Seaport Plaza in the Sheepshead area of Brooklyn.

Bayrock Group was a solid start. It helped Tevfik become more determined. He was looking forward to bigger projects and decided to change the company strategy to be more focused on these projects.

Bayrock Group’s New York City offices were moved to the Trump Tower, Fifth Avenue, to accommodate the strategy change.

The move brought about many more things than the addition of a new location. It also placed the company within close proximity of the Trump Organization. It was the home of the world-renowned family business.

Trump SoHo finally takes shape

Bayrock Group and the Trump Organization shared the vision of developing luxury real estate developments So, the two companies have decided to work together.

Bayrock Group had already begun work on a second project in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood along Spring Street with the Sapir Organization.

Tevfik Alif knew that adding the Trump Organization to the project would add brand awareness to the building, something that Bayrock Group lacked and that the Sapir Organization was lacking.

Arif drafted an agreement granting the Trump Organization 18% equity in the building in exchange for the use of the Trump brand name in its name.

The deal was ratified by Bayrock Group (the Trump Organization) as well as the Sapir Organization (the Sapir Organization).

After two years of work, the building was ready and awaiting its official opening.

Trump SoHo was built by design veterans

The first time it was opened, Trump SoHo consisted of apartments, hotel rooms, luxury eateries and bars with a pool, spa, banquet and event spaces. From the windows that ran from the floor to the ceiling guests could get to take in breathtaking views of New York City.

Bayrock Group hired Rockwell Group to create the interior of the building.

Rockwell Group, for example, has designed for instance, the Climate Pledge Arena as well as the Seven Deadly Sins Theater in New York, and Virgin Hotel in Las Vegas.

The firm also has experience in international countries like Indonesia, Mexico and Spain.

Bayrock Group, Trump Organization extend their collaboration

The Bayrock Group and the Trump Organization wanted to grow their collaboration following the opening Trump SoHo.

Their vision was to construct structures like Trump SoHo in Arizona and Florida. Trump Organization also received 18% equity in building with the same license conditions. This would allow Trump to be included in the building’s name.

The American real estate market was the most hit by the crisis. Bayrock Group, and the Trump Organization were forced to end their plans.

Tevfik Alif, an Tevfik Arif employee in the United States, decided to leave his American ventures due to the effects of the economic crisis. He chose to return to Europe, Central Asia.

He moved into the private sector, and continued his employment.

Today, Tevfik Aif has resigned from most of his Bayrock Group responsibilities. But, he remains a respected consultant to Bayrock Group.

Bayrock Group is not currently involved in American real estate ventures. In the past, during the time when the company was operating it invested in real estate assets that were valued at $2.5 million in the United States.
