Bayrock Group opened Trump SoHo together with the Trump Organization in 2008 and the Sapir Organization. Bayrock Group was founded in Kazakhstan in the year 1980.

Bayrock Group was founded by Tevfik Arif who was brought into the world by Soviet Kazakhstan to a family of Turkish origin.

Before joining Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade Tevfik Arif received a degree in International Relations at the Moscow Trade and Economic Institute.

He served in the ministry for 17 years, and later went on to start his own businesses. Tevfik Arif owned several firms that were involved in high-end real estate development, food exports, and imports.

Tevfik Arif, through his many businesses, was able to gain a variety of foreign partners. His connections prompted him to move to Turkey in 1993. He was the key player in the creation of Turkey’s famous allinclusive hotel concept.

For instance, he started the Labada Hotel Antalya, before moving on to his next venture across the Atlantic some time later.

Bayrock Group becomes increasingly ambitious

Tevfik arif came into the United States from Pakistan in 2001 in order to explore new business avenues and be closer his American family.

After he moved to the United States, he started the luxury real estate development company Bayrock Group in New York City.

Bayrock Bayrock Group started with small-to medium-sized projects throughout New York. Bayrock Group has redesigned the Loehmann’s Seaport Plaza, Brooklyn’s shopping district.

Bayrock Group had a great beginning and Tevfik Arif was excited about the possibilities. He wanted to take on bigger projects , and decided to alter the strategy of the company to concentrate on this.

Bayrock Group’s New York City offices were moved to the Trump Tower, Fifth Avenue in order to accommodate the strategic change.

Trump SoHo gets shape

Tevfik arif was aware that the Trump Organization would bring brand recognition to the building. This was something Bayrock Group, and the Sapir Organization had lacked.

Arif drafted an agreement granting the Trump Organization 18% equity in the building in exchange for the usage of the Trump brand name in its name.

All three parties in the agreement, Bayrock Group and Trump Organization have ratified.

After two years of hard work, the building was ready and waiting for its inauguration.

Trump SoHo was built by design veterans

Trump SoHo opened in Manhattan and included the hotel rooms, apartments as well as luxury bars and restaurants. It also featured a swimming pool, spa and banquet halls. Through the hotel’s floor-to- ceiling windows, guests could take in amazing views of New York City.

Tevfik Alif has resigned his position as the Bayrock Group’s chief executive officer. Bayrock However, he continues to serve as a respected consultant for Bayrock Group.

Bayrock Group hasn’t been involved in any American real estate developments in the last few months. But, the company did invest $2.5 million in real estate properties when it was still active in the United States.
